The Americans #901
Officer Lawrence B. Munne
Light Dragoon Trooper, 1776

Painted by Mike Sadler

Trooper Munne, seated at attention behind the
Colonel Commandment, Theodorick Bland, awaits the
review of his troop by General George Washington.
The troop has the honor of being chosen to be
the personal Body Guard for General Washington
at the up coming engagement with the British
at Germantown. Recently recruited in the lush
farming country of his native Virginia, our young trooper
has spent his life's savings to equip himself and his horse
with the best equipment that he could buy.
The regiment was mustered into Continental Service
in March of 1777 but had seen service early as
the Virginia Horse. Regimental engagements
included Brandywine, Germantown, Battle of
Cowpens, Guilford, Yorktown, and served
with Lauzun's Legion.
