The Americans #905
Private Theodor P. Strobel
Infantry Private, 1776

The second Canadian Regiment "Congress' Own" was
so named because it was recruited from citizens of
all the States, but primarily from refugees from Canada.
When Theodor Strobel heard the eloquent
Col. Moses Hazen talk of liberty, it touched him deeply,
much as his father had been drawn to the new frontier
of Pennsylvania from his native Bavaria.
So 1776 found Private Strobel in the new uniform
of the Congress of the United States, ready to
march a road that would forge a new nation.
