Louisiana Tiger, 1861

After the first battle of Bull Run (1st Manassas) Brad sat
on an old stump thoroughly exhausted. A strapping
youngster, Brad had left his home in Marietta, Ga.
to get work on the New Orleans docks. There he
enlisted in the 1st Special Batallion, Louisiana Infantry,
after hearing a recruiting speech by Rob Wheat, the
unit's dynamic commander. The Tigers were destined
for historical notoriety.
